The birth and growth of the JC School of Public Health and Primary Care is a story of generations of scholars and researchers striving for a healthier world through academic excellence and public impacts.

Establishment of the Department of Community Medicine. Prof S. DONNAN was the first department chairman.

Renamed to Department of Community and Family Medicine.

Prof. O.L. LLOYLD was appointed the Chairman of the Department of Community Medicine and Family Medicine.

Prof. LEE Shiu-hung joined the DCFM as Chairman after his retirement from Department of Health, HKSARG

First cohort of Master of Public Health (part-time) programme started in Jan 1996.

Prof. Jean WOO was appointed the Chairman of the Department of Community and Family Medicine.

Hong Kong's first and only School of Public Health (SPH) building is established on the site of Prince of Wales Hospital.

Prof. Jean WOO served as the Director of the School of Public Health from 2001 to 2005.

Prof. Sian GRIFFITHS served as the Director of the JC School of Public Health from 2005 to 2013.

Established Graduate Division of Public Health to provide postgraduate public health education.

Commencement of the Full-time Master of Public Health Programme.

Commencement of the Full-time Master of Public Health Programme.

Launch of the Bachelor of Science Programme in Public Health, the only undergraduate programme of its kind in Hong Kong.

The School of Public Health and Primary Care was established through the merger of School of Public Health and Department of Community and Family Medicine. It is the first institution in Hong Kong to offer comprehensive education, training, consultation, and research in public health.

Launch of BSc in Community Health Practice Programme, a special 2-year programme for sub-degree graduates.

Prof. Eng-kiong YEOH served as the Director of the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care from 2014 to 2020.

The success of the International Conference on Innovations in Public Health Sciences celebrated the School's 15th anniversary

Prof. Samuel Yeung-shan WONG has been serving as the Director of the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care since March 2020.

In the face of the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19, the School worked in concert with local and international units to combat the pandemic.

Organised the “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance (GHMUA) Summit
on Post-pandemic Challenges in Public Health” along with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony to renew the collaboration for the five partners of GHMUA Public Health Sub-Alliance.

The first and only institution in the region to have both Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Master of Public Health programmes fully accredited by the APHEA, a leading global accreditation body for public health schools and programmes.
