About the Speaker


Dr. Rose Yang is a Senior Investigator at the Division of Cancer Epidemiology & Genetics, National Cancer Institute in the United States. She received a Ph.D. in Physiology from the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown University in 1999, followed by an M.P.H. in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2003. Dr. Yang's research focuses primarily on examining the etiologic and molecular heterogeneity of breast cancer, as well as exploring the genetics of chordoma and familial cutaneous malignant melanoma/dysplastic nevi syndrome. In her current work on breast cancer, Dr. Yang characterizes the molecular profiles of tumors and tumor microenvironment (TME) using integrated tumor profiling analysis to identify distinct genomic features and their associations with risk factors in diverse populations. Her presentation will describe her work on Asian breast cancer, with a special emphasis on the molecular characterization of breast tumors derived from the Hong Kong breast cancer study.
