This year, TEDxCUHK is returning for the summer with a full day of inspiring talks with the theme “The Alchemy of Stories”. Professor Roger Chung, Associate Professor at the JC School of Public Health and Primary Care (JCSPHPC) and Co-Director, CUHK Centre for Bioethics, with other 8 speakers are invited to share with us their struggles of the past, achievements of the present and hope for the future.
Drawing from Prof. Roger Chung’s expertise in public health and bioethics, as well as his personal moral convictions, Prof. CHUNG will unravel the layers of the complex issue of “Why do we need to talk about inequalities in an unequal world.” He will introduce the concept of ideal and non-ideal justice, distinguishing between a lofty, unattainable ideal and a practical, non-ideal approach that nevertheless fosters progress, and how embracing a realistic approach to justice can inspire meaningful change in our world.
