Congratulations to Professor Maggie Haitian Wang for receiving the CUHK Research Excellence Award 2022-23 in recognition of her outstanding research achievements. In June 2022, Professor Wang and her research team successfully developed new algorithms for real-time evaluation of COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness by analysing genetic distance. This new technology can facilitate the design of high-efficacy vaccines against COVID-19, flu and other pathogens. The research findings were published in the renowned journal Nature Medicine.
