About the speaker:
Dr. KONG Ka-wai, Paul, an experienced registered clinical psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience who speaks English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin). Before practicing independently in 2022, he had a long track record of serving patients with mental health problems in public hospitals in Hong Kong, particularly specialising in common mental disorders and addictive disorders. He has been trained in a wide array of therapies such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, EMDR, etc. and he is particularly skilled in maximising treatment outcome through resolving clients’ internal ambivalence and enhancing their motivation to change through the treatment.

The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, along with 4 NGOs (Christian Family Service Centre, St. James’ Settlement, United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service and Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association), are collaborating on the Jockey Club We WATCH Healthy Lifestyle Project. This project, funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The project offers personalized health coaching for chronic disease prevention through the participating NGOs. Participants will wear a digital smart watch provided by the project to track their daily health and activities. Over a period of six months, participants will engage in health coaching interventions and attend CORE programs that cover physical exercise, nutrition, and emotional and mental health. The target audience for this project is men and women aged 35 to 59.
