 [Event Highlights] Seminar by Prof Tamara Giles-Vernick

On July 29, Prof Tamara Giles-Vernick from the Institut Pasteur delivered an inspiring presentation titled "(Not knowing) TBE: The Social Emergence of Tickborne Encephalitis in France." The seminar was moderated by Prof Dong Dong, Assistant Professor at the JC School of Public Health and Primary Care (JCSPHPC).


Prof Dong Dong, Assistant Professor at JCSPHPC, was the moderator of the seminar.

Professor Giles-Vernick's talk shed light on the social aspects of tickborne encephalitis (TBE) in eastern France, offering valuable insights into how anthropological and historical research associates with the study of pathogenic emergence and expansion. Her expertise also highlighted the implications for public health education on TBE, enriching the audience's understanding in the field.


Prof Giles-Vernick shared her insights on the topic “(Not knowing) TBE: The Social Emergence of Tickborne Encephalitis in France” on 29 July.

Prof Samuel Wong, School Director, presented a souvenir to Prof Giles-Vernick as a token of appreciation.
