To arouse public concern in global child health and to encourage robust research work in the field, the Centre for Global Health (CGH) Sian Griffiths Essay Prize in Global Child Health was established for Faculty of Medicine undergraduate and postgraduate students and alumni to conduct research in global child health. Awardee(s) will receive a prize of up to HKD$7,100 at the JC School of Public Health and Primary Care (JCSPHPC) Graduation Event in November 2020.
Supported through a generous donation by Dr CW Chan, the call to submissions for this initiative goes out annually each September.
Eligibility:
A full-time or part-time undergraduate or postgraduate student of the CUHK Faculty of Medicine, or graduated within two years before the commencement date of application from an undergraduate or postgraduate programme of the Faculty.
Please submit an essay of 2,000-10,000 words to JCSPHPC in English in both PDF and MS Word format, on the theme of:
The Impact of COVID-19 on Child Health
Some suggestions on essay aspects: Obesity /stunting; Lack of exercise; Mental health; Social networking; Online learning; Programmes which promote health; Places which improve health.
Deadline:
All essays must be submitted to kaffeem@cuhk.edu.hk on or prior to 8 October 2020 (Thursday) at 11:00pm HKT.
Announcement of the prize will be made at the website of the JC School of Public Health and Primary Care (https://www.sphpc.edu.hk) in early November.
