Professor Jin-Ling Tang, Emeritus Professor of CUHK JC School of Public Health and Primary Care, has been appointed Clinical Research Editor for China by The BMJ, one of the world’s most cited general medical journals. He was formerly Head of Epidemiology and Associate Director of School of Public Health and Primary Care of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Cochrane Branch of the Cochrane Collaboration and is the Director for Peking University EBM Centre. Professor Tang is a senior epidemiologist with a long standing interest in evidence-based healthcare, clinical evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine, systematic reviews and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. After qualifying as a public health doctor at Peking University, Professor Tang went on to obtain an MSc in epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of London, and received post-doctoral training in the University of Oxford. He is currently Director for Clinical Research at Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Centre (a cluster of hospitals) of Guangzhou Medical University.
