Among the awardees, 12 recipients of the Distinguished Awards and 7 recipients of the Teaching Awards attended the award presentation ceremony in person, receiving their honours from Professor Samuel Wong, Director of JCSPHPC, at the CUHK Family Medicine Teachers Appreciation Dinner held on 21 March 2026 (Saturday).

The Dinner brought together more than 80 clinicians, celebrating the shared commitment and long‑standing partnership that have shaped the growth and strength of Family Medicine education at CUHK. JCSPHPC has been devoted to playing a pioneering role in integrating public health and primary care in both teaching and research.

The programme also featured a keynote lecture delivered by Professor Christian Mallen, Director of the NIHR School for Primary Care Research (SPCR). Speaking on “Challenges and Advances in Training and Practice in UK General Practice,” Professor Mallen offered insights from the enhanced training structures of general physicians, the primary care access model, and how the cutting-edge IT and AI technologies may change the healthcare service landscape in the United Kingdom.

In expressing his appreciation to the honorary professors and tutors, JCSPHPC Director Professor Samuel Wong emphasised the pivotal role they play in shaping future family physicians:

“Your dual role—clinician and educator—forms an irreplaceable bridge between academic learning and real‑world practice,” said Professor Wong. “Through your mentorship, our students gain not only clinical knowledge and patient‑centred skills, but also the compassion, professionalism, and values that shape truly exemplary family doctors.”

Professor Wong also reaffirmed the School’s commitment to advancing primary care and family medicine through new academic initiatives, enhanced training platforms, and strengthened collaboration with community partners. He called on clinical partners to remain engaged with the School’s developments and to continue contributing to the next chapter of primary care education in Hong Kong.
